Job summary

Capstone Investment Advisors, LLC is seeking a Senior Risk Engineer (SVP level) within Risk Technology. This hands‑on role blends software engineering with risk and financial markets, designing and building investment‑facing risk and decision‑support tools close to the code and users.

You will help turn complex risk and portfolio data into timely, actionable insights across stress scenarios, VaR, margin and analytics, supporting portfolio managers and risk managers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, quantitative development or risk technology.
• Strong track record designing and supporting production‑grade risk, pricing or trading systems.
• Advanced Python / Java and SQL; experience with APIs and data pipelines.
• Understanding of derivatives and cross‑asset risk analytics including VaR and Greeks.
• Strong architecture, maintainability and operational resilience.
• Ability to communicate and lead technically with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience integrating pricing and risk libraries across asset classes.
• Experience using ML / AI tools in production environments.
• Experience with cloud, containers, CI/CD, streaming and data lineage.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and own production‑grade components of Capstone’s Risk Technology platform.
• Build cross‑asset risk capabilities spanning Greeks, stresses, VaR, P&L vectors and attribution.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Risk Managers and Quant Research to solve complex challenges.
• Build APIs, data pipelines and interactive decision tools for trade and fund level use.
• Translate pricing and risk methodologies into scalable services with clear controls.
• Advance Risk Intelligence by turning analytics into practical investment insights.
• Engineer and operate resilient risk services with data lineage and end‑to‑end ownership.
• Shape the Risk Technology roadmap with Technology, Data and AI teams.
