Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) invites applications for a Senior Risk Engineer specializing in the Property Construction segment, supporting Builder’s Risk with our North America teams. Ideally located near NY or other NA offices with Builder’s Risk presence.

The role reports to the SVP Risk Control, Energy and Construction and integrates with Underwriting. It requires a minimum of 10 years in field and account engineering related to property construction insurance and strong

Qualifications

• 10+ years in field and account engineering related to property construction insurance.
• Extensive experience across a variety of project types and occupancies.
• High degree of experience with EAR and CAR project types.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of project safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Support Builder’s Risk underwriting teams globally.
• Conduct technical desktop construction project reviews for underwriting insights.
• Occasionally attend site visits to enhance risk understanding.
• Communicate effectively with Risk Engineers, Underwriting, Valuation and Claims teams.
• Represent BHSI professionally with customers during site visits or meetings.
• Support other lines of business as needed.
