Job summary

Cross Creek Hospital in the Walnut Creek area of north Austin seeks an experienced Risk Director to lead risk management across the facility. You will plan, direct, and oversee risk activities to protect patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires analyzing risks, investigating incidents, and collaborating with Legal, QAPI, and department leaders to promote a culture of safety and proactive harm prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a clinical healthcare, risk management, business, finance, or related field.
• Two or more years’ experience in a risk management position.
• One or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with CARF, DEA, Joint Commission, or CMS surveys, as required by service line(s) supported

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and oversee all risk management activities.
• Implement a robust risk management program throughout the facility.
• Lead investigations and analyze actual and potential risks with Legal input.
• Develop infrastructures and systems that support patient safety.
• Promote a culture of safety and encourage incident reporting.
• Collaborate with facility leadership and departments to ensure policy compliance.
• Identify high-risk areas and provide staff development on risk identification and mitigation.
• Coordinate with Patient Advocate to review complaints and grievances.
• Establish and lead a Safety Committee with measurable safety initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for risk management, performance improvement, and compliance initiatives.
