Job summary

Cano Health is seeking a Risk Adjustment Coder III to accurately assign ICD-10-CM codes and review medical records to ensure proper HCC capture in a compliant environment.

The role requires five years of risk adjustment coding experience, CPC/CCS certification, and strong ICD-10-CM knowledge. You will collaborate with clinical teams and support audits in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certification in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or related field preferred.
• Current CPC or CCS certification required; CRC preferred.
• At least 5 years of medical coding experience with risk adjustment (HCC) focus.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and auditing processes.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes based on records and guidelines.
• Perform chart reviews to ensure accurate HCC capture and coding.
• Identify and correct coding discrepancies per evidence and standards.
• Collaborate with clinical documentation staff and leadership; participate in audits and training.
