Job summary

Advantmed is seeking experienced Medical Coders specializing in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding. The ideal candidate holds CPC or CCS certification and will code diagnoses and procedures in ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

This remote, US-based role requires 20 hours per week minimum, with a preference for 40 hours. BYOD policy; Windows Pro device and reliable internet are mandatory. Collaboration with health professionals is essential to maintain coding quality.

Qualifications

• At least CPC or CCS certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• Experience with Risk Adjustment/HCC coding is required.
• ECoding with ICD-10-CM and CMS-HCC guidelines knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code medical records for Risk Adjustment and HCC.
• Ensure coding aligns with ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC and related guidelines.
• Validate completeness and accuracy of coded data.
• Identify discrepancies between documentation and coding.
• Stay updated with latest coding rules and HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation and resolve queries.
• Participate in coding education and audits to improve accuracy.
• Prepare reports on coding activity and accuracy.
