Job summary

MEI is seeking a Dispatcher to schedule and assign rigging crews and equipment in compliance with DOT regulations. You will assign crews to jobs, coordinate travel, and ensure maintenance of MEI and rental equipment.

The role requires at least two years of dispatching experience, strong communication and project management skills, and knowledge of export/import paperwork. You will use WrightPlan and ADP for labor and timekeeping, and participate in safety and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Minimum two (2) years dispatching experience or comparable field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and customs requirements for export/import shipments.
• Valid and current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and schedule work crews and equipment to each job including travel, load time and non-job related projects and tasks.
• Assign and dispatch work crews every morning to job sites and yard projects based on customer and MEI requirements ensuring employees are assigned to job/projects in accordance with their skill set.
• Dispatch/assign equipment (MEI and rentals) and tools to crew per job requirements including scheduling of equipment repairs.
• Prepare, organize and distribute all required paperwork to appropriate groups related to the job, change orders, assignment of crew and equipment, safety, JHA’s and equipment repairs & inspections.
• Perform data entry into WrightPlan for labor and equipment.
• Review, edit and adjust labor hours in ADP, preparing final review and approval by manager.
• Update dispatch job board daily by adding and cancelling pending and confirmed jobs.
• Coordinate, track and schedule drop off and pick up of all equipment and rentals related to jobs.
• Provide direct supervision of driving and rigging crews to insure performance, safety and MEI standards are met.
• Communicate daily with job foreman and drivers for efficiency of scheduling and dispatch.
• Provide new hire orientation including safety, job and timekeeping & attendance requirements.
