Job summary

MEI is seeking a Dispatcher in Columbus, OH to schedule rigging crews and plan equipment per DOT regulations, ensuring maintenance of rental and MEI-owned gear.

You will allocate crews, track time and paperwork, coordinate with foremen and drivers, and maintain dispatch boards daily.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least two years dispatching experience in rigging or transportation, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years dispatching experience or comparable field preferably within the rigging or transportation industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
• Knowledge of intra and interstate trip permit regulations and customs requirements as it relates to export/import shipments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and schedule work crews and equipment for each job including travel, load time and non-job-related tasks.
• Assign and dispatch work crews every morning to job sites and yard projects based on customer and MEI requirements.
• Dispatch/assign equipment (MEI and rentals) and tools to crew per job requirements including scheduling of equipment repairs.
• Prepare, organize and distribute required paperwork related to the job, change orders, safety, and inspections.
• Update dispatch job board daily by adding and cancelling pending and confirmed jobs.
• Coordinate and schedule drop off and pick up of equipment and rentals related to jobs.
