Job summary

Piper Sandler is seeking a Head of RIA & Family Office Research Distribution to drive the firm’s investment research outreach to RIAs and family offices. Location is negotiable and the role can sit in any office, reflecting our flexible approach.

The person will build senior relationships, develop a distribution strategy, and collaborate with research, sales, and leadership to expand engagement and revenue.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in institutional sales, research distribution, asset or wealth management.
• Proven ability to sell investment research to RIAs and family offices.
• Established relationships with senior RIA and family office professionals.
• Strong understanding of how RIAs source and utilize research.
• Proven revenue generation through consultative, relationship-based sales.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and events.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional designation is a plus.
• FINRA licenses may be required depending on scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategy for distributing investment research to RIAs, family offices, wealth managers, and other non-traditional institutional investors.
• Build and maintain relationships with CIOs, portfolio managers, investment committee members, research directors, and senior decision-makers.
• Identify, prioritize, and pursue new business opportunities across the RIA and family office channels.
• Clearly articulate the value proposition of the firm’s research, including sector expertise, insights, and ideas.
• Coordinate meetings and events between clients and the firm’s research analysts and investment professionals.
• Partner with institutional sales, equity research, corporate access, marketing, and leadership to provide coordinated coverage.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and opportunities.
• Gather market intelligence to shape the firm’s research product and distribution model.
• Increase awareness and utilization of the firm’s research among RIA and family office communities.
