Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Test Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain the test infrastructure for Counter-UAS RF hardware, from prototype to production. You will own the automated test equipment, ATPs, and data pipelines to ensure IPC Class 3 and MIL-spec quality across units.

The role sits at the intersection of RF/hardware engineering, test automation, and production, collaborating with design, firmware, and contract manufacturers to improve yield and throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in RF/hardware test systems.
• Hands-on RF test instrumentation experience (VNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters).
• Proficiency in Python, LabVIEW, or similar for automation.
• Working knowledge of IPC Class 3 and MIL-spec manufacturing/test standards.
• U.S. Person status is required (ITAR-controlled program).

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop automated test systems for RF front-end, PCB assembly, and integrated subsystems.
• Write and maintain ATPs and manufacturing test documentation per MIL-spec and IPC Class 3.
• Build test automation software and data acquisition frameworks (Python, LabVIEW).
• Develop test fixtures and calibration methods for RF hardware.
• Analyze production test data to identify outliers and drive corrective action.
