Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal on the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense program. The role requires leadership of teams, a proactive, self-starting mindset, and delivery of innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

This on-site position emphasizes RF communications hardware expertise and DoD program experience. Applicants must have a DoD secret level clearance or interim clearance to start.

Qualifications

• STEM Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of related experience.
• Master’s degree with 6 Years of related experience.
• PhD 4 Years of related experience.
• Must have background in RF communications terminal hardware and hardware‑to‑software interfaces.
• Experience troubleshooting complex systems of hardware, software and RF communications.
• Experience with RF system path alignment and testing using test equipment.
• Experience reviewing system log files to investigate and resolve issues.
• Experience with hardware assembly drawings and parts lists.
• Experience with system and rack interconnect cabling drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams and drive innovative solutions for the IDT on the GMD program.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integration of RF terminals and interfaces.
