Job summary

Leidos’ NISC IV program seeks an Electrical Engineer/Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to support FAA Spectrum Engineering Services Group. The role focuses on investigating RF interference affecting CNS systems and performing on-site field investigations to identify interference sources.

The candidate will operate RF test equipment, conduct RDF/DF operations, analyze propagation characteristics, and prepare engineering reports for stakeholders. Travel for field work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of RF engineering, spectrum management, interference mitigation, or wireless experience.
• Experience conducting RF interference investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Proficiency with RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, monitoring receivers, signal generators, RF power meters.
• Experience with radio direction finding equipment and techniques.
• Understanding of RF propagation, antenna theory, modulation methods, EMI.
• Ability to analyze technical data and prepare detailed engineering reports.
• Willingness to travel for field investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams in field and office environments.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of RF interference affecting mission-critical systems.
• Conduct on-site and remote RF interference investigations to identify sources.
• Perform root-cause analysis of intermittent RF interference events.
• Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and verify mitigation.
