Job summary

Leidos’ NISC IV program seeks an Electrical Engineer/RF Engineer to support the FAA Spectrum Engineering Services Group. The role focuses on investigating RF interference, performing spectrum analysis, and conducting RDF in field and on-site environments.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of RF experience, proficiency with RF test equipment, and strong technical reporting skills. Travel for field investigations is required, and US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of RF engineering, spectrum management, interference mitigation, or wireless communications.
• Experience investigating RF interference and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Proficiency with RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, monitoring receivers, signal generators, RF power meters.
• Experience with radio direction finding equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• RF Interference Investigation: investigate reports of RF interference affecting critical systems; conduct on-site and remote investigations; perform root-cause analysis; document findings and verify mitigation.
• Spectrum Analysis: operate RF test gear to identify interfering emissions; measure frequency, bandwidth, occupied spectrum, modulation, power, harmonics, spurs; evaluate propagation characteristics; prepare technical reports.
• Radio Direction Finding (RDF): perform RDF/DF operations, use directional antennas and GPS mapping, conduct drive testing and field measurements; support rapid response for high-priority events.
