Job summary

E-Space in Saratoga, CA is seeking a Senior RF Front-End Engineer to design, develop, and verify flight RF front-end electronics for spacecraft phased-array antennas and satellite communications. You will own end-to-end RF hardware from concept through prototype and test, collaborating with RF, antenna, and systems teams to ensure space-qualified performance.

You will define specs, perform cascade analyses, and calibrate phased-array RF channels while working in a fast-paced, high-reliability

Qualifications

• Hands-on ownership of RF front-end hardware from design to verification.
• Strong RF fundamentals: S-parameters, impedance matching, noise figure, gain, stability and measurement.
• Experience with phased arrays, beamforming, satellite comms, or multi-channel RF systems.
• Experience with RF design tools (ADS/AWR) and schematic/PCB workflows.
• Hands-on RF lab experience and ability to troubleshoot complex RF hardware.
• Clear communication and data-driven decision making under schedule constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own RF front-end hardware from requirements and architecture through device-level design and release.
• Design transmit/receive chains using PAs, LNAs, filters, duplexers, switches, and mixers.
• Perform RF cascade analyses and trade studies for gain, NF, linearity, stability, and link margin.
• Define component specs considering RF performance, power, thermal, size, cost, and space-environment suitability.
• Design controlled-impedance transmission lines, grounding, shielding, and RF PCB stackups.
• Develop RF/mixed-signal boards with ADCs/DACs as needed for digitized RF interfaces.
• Collaborate with antenna, RF, digital, firmware, mechanical, and test teams.
• Mentor engineers/technicians and help establish repeatable RF design/calibration practices.
