Job summary

VTG in Hanover, Maryland seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate secure, high-performance software for national security missions. You will lead DSP algorithm development, work across teams, and ensure systems meet strict timing and resource constraints.

The role emphasizes collaboration, secure software practices, and mission impact. The position is hybrid, with up to two days remote weekly.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with TS/SCI with Poly required.
• 12+ years of DSP algorithm development experience.
• 12+ years of software development with C++, Linux, Python.
• Hands-on C++ development in the last 10 years.
• Experience designing and developing DSP algorithms.
• Experience in performance-sensitive environments.
• Translating requirements into software design and performance requirements.
• Collaborating across software, systems, and hardware engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and optimize DSP algorithms and software solutions.
• Analyze requirements to derive software design and performance specs.
• Develop software applications and modify existing software to add functionality.
• Develop and implement complex algorithms to meet performance targets.
• Integrate software into new or modified systems and environments.
• Write and maintain software and system documentation.
• Coordinate software activities to ensure compliance with standards and timelines.
