Job summary

VT Group (VTG) in Hanover, MD is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure, high‑performance software for national security missions. You will lead DSP algorithm development and work with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that support critical intelligence and defense operations.

The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, collaboration in Agile environments, and hands‑on C++/Python on Linux.

Qualifications

12+ years of DSP algorithm development experience.
12+ years of software development in C++, Linux, Python.
Hands-on C++ development within the last 10 years.
US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and optimize DSP algorithms and software solutions.
Analyze requirements to derive design, functional, and performance specs.
Develop and modify software to introduce new functionality and support new hardware.
Develop complex algorithms to meet performance and interface constraints.
Integrate software into new or modified systems and environments.
Coordinate software system installation and monitor functionality to meet requirements.
Lead software development activities and oversee adherence to standards and methodologies.
