Job summary

Silvus Technologies, an RF engineering group within Motorola Solutions, seeks a Senior RF Design Engineer to develop the RF subsystem for StreamCaster products. You will design RF front-ends from antenna to baseband, oversee PCB layout, and ensure EMI compliance in a highly collaborative team in West Los Angeles.

The role requires 5+ years in multi-GHz RF hardware, hands-on EMI/problem solving, and experience with RF tools like AWR Microwave Office and Altium. On-site work and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
• Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
• Hands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
• Experience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Antenna to baseband RF subsystem design using discrete circuitry or highly integrated RFICs.
• Discrete design includes PLL, LNA, Mixers, PA etc.
• Implementing or supervising schematic capture and PCB layout.
• RF performance characterization, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Overall system design to ensure good EMI performance.
• Ensure circuit board design and overall radio product can pass emission and immunity regulations.
• Troubleshoot RF-related production yield problems.
• Improve design for manufacturability.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
• Travel: Rare local travel as required (Irvine, West LA).
