Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks an Electronics Design Engineer to develop MANET radios and related R&D projects in West Los Angeles. Hybrid work requires at least 3 onsite days weekly (Mon/Wed/Thu). You’ll lead hardware/PCB design, bring-up, and cross‑discipline collaboration to meet stringent specs.

The role emphasizes PCB design, power and interface circuitry, and EMI control, with a path to growth across high-speed digital design, FPGAs, and MCUs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 2 years of multi-layer PCB design experience.
• Experience with digital communication peripherals at hardware level (USB 2.0, Ethernet, I2C, RS232).
• Experience designing power supply circuitry.
• Familiarity with test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident) due to federal contracts.
• Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Select components, capture schematics, and design multi-layer PCBs (4–12 layers).
• Create wiring diagrams for radio wiring harnesses.
• Validate PCB and harness designs meet requirements.
• Follow best practices for mixed-signal PCB and harness designs.
• Define PCB stack-up, materials, and design rules for performance and manufacturability.
• Perform hardware bring-up, test, and root-cause analysis on bench equipment.
• Collaborate with PCB Designers, Software, FPGA, and RF teams for system implementation.
• Ensure EMI is mitigated and designs stay well isolated in high-EMI environments.
