Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to develop RF subsystems for the StreamCaster product line. The role is based onsite in Rancho Bernardo, North San Diego, CA, and involves design, testing, and collaboration across engineering teams.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of multi-GHz RF experience, strong EMI/EMC troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with AWR Microwave Office and Altium. Background checks and drug testing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
• Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
• Hands-on experience with EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
• Experience using RF simulation tools (AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
• US Person (citizen or permanent resident) due to government contracts.
• Employment contingent upon background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Antenna to baseband RF subsystem design using discrete circuitry or RFICs.
• Implementing or supervising schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Radio frequency performance characterization, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure EMI performance and compliance with emission regulations.
• Improve design for manufacturability and reliability.
• Perform related duties as assigned by management.
• Occasional travel to Irvine, West LA as required.
• Lead design reviews and document design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet program goals.
