Qualifications

12 semester units or 16 quarter units in accounting or related field plus one year of responsible full-time experience with fiscal transactions or statistical data.
Some coursework in accounting or related field plus two years of increasingly responsible full-time experience handling fiscal transactions or records.
Possession of a valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment; this position does not require a California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Collect property tax and other tax/program payments received over the counter and through other payment channels.
Provide front-counter and telephone customer service, including handling a multi-line phone system and taxpayer inquiries.
Provide customer and administrative support for TOT and Cannabis Tax programs.
Draft and send correspondence to customers; maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Prepare and process bank deposits; prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger; research discrepancies.
