Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in McKinney, TX is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to lead health and retirement benefit design and strategy. The role oversees vendor management, budgeting and compliance across US programs, including 401(k) funding, audits, and 5500s.

You will collaborate with Finance, Controllership and Payroll to align programs with company objectives, while communicating complex benefits concepts to employees and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep benefits expertise with a focus on reporting, controls and US 401(k) management.
• Knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, OBRA, SSA and DOL requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously under deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills with knowledge of plan designs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic expert for leadership on US retirement programs.
• Develop and maintain engagement framework with Finance, Controllership and Payroll.
• Design materials for benefits orientations and open enrollment; train employees on new programs.
• Analyze current benefits for usage, cost, coverage and program performance.
• Review cost estimates and perform statistical analyses for program modifications.
• Survey industry trends and forecast benefits design directions.
• Oversee benefits compliance and timely reporting.
• Monitor administrative costs and recommend cost containment strategies.
• Research benefit plans and vendors to identify best value.
• Design and recommend new benefits programs and plan designs.
• Develop communication tools to explain the benefits package.
• Manage 401(k) funding, reconciliation and audits.
• Coordinate annual renewal data collection with health, life and retirement plans.
• Distribute enrollment materials and determine eligibility.
• Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party admins.
