Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Manager of Development and Project Entitlements to lead retail development projects across the continental United States. The role requires 15+ years of experience in entitlement processes, with emphasis on banking sector projects.

The position focuses on coordinating landlords, developers, expeditors, architects, and civil engineers to ensure timely permit approvals and utility provisioning. This is an on-site Columbus, OH-based role with travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Business.
Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering, architecture, or real estate development with focus on retail.
Strong knowledge of zoning laws, land use regulations, and entitlement processes across jurisdictions.
Proficiency in Excel and MS Project or equivalent scheduling software.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional client service through technical expertise and relationship management.
Provide strategic oversight of entitlement & permitting processes from inception to full approvals.
Develop tracking mechanisms and KPIs for external consultants and optimize project schedules.
Advise on landlord work letters, zoning and environmental entitlements, and utility acquisition.
Foster collaboration between transaction, design, and construction teams and mentor staff.
