Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Mateo, CA seeks a Senior Responsible AI & Governance Technical Specialist to guide ethical, safe AI development across product lifecycles. This cross‑functional role partners with engineering, security, legal and product teams to build governance frameworks, assess risk, and translate complex findings into concrete controls and guidance.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with agentic AI, regulatory awareness, and the ability to drive initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience in AI governance, responsible AI, or related policy fields.
• Experience leading cross-functional programs with product, engineering, security and legal teams.
• Strong understanding of modern AI systems, LLMs, automation, APIs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to long-term strategies for safe, ethical, and innovative AI products and tools
• Serve as a technical Responsible AI advisor for generative and agentic AI systems, guiding architectures, data flows, and guardrails
• Engage stakeholders across the organization to gather feedback and address AI governance and Responsible AI considerations
• Use governance, risk tooling and discovery insights to identify risks and support remediation
• Experiment with emerging AI capabilities to translate findings into governance guidance
• Sit on domain boards as a technical specialist, collaborating with Product and Engineering
• Conduct ethical and safety risk assessments and advise on mitigation for bias, fairness and robustness
• Partner with engineers, product managers, designers, and other teams to identify unintended AI risks
• Coordinate with Information Security to align governance reviews with security requirements
• Contribute to company-wide best practices for responsible AI development and deployment
• Develop AI literacy materials and case studies
