Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a Respiratory Therapist II for the night shift. The role involves advanced respiratory care, ventilator management, and arterial procedures, with on-call potential.

Per diem work supports patient care in a high-acuity academic medical center. Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and NBRC certification (RRT preferred) with additional ACLS/NRP/PALS or CPFT credentials.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Current NBRC credentials required or eligible for RRT
• ACLS/NRP/PALS/CPFT or equivalent required to administer moderate sedation/therapy

Responsibilities

• Administers standard Respiratory Care including aerosol delivery, oxygen therapy, and arterial punctures.
• Manages airway care including tracheostomy care and ventilator setup and weaning.
• May be on-call days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Functions independently with minimal supervision and serves as a resource to staff.
