Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD is recruiting Respiratory Therapists to join our experienced team. You will work under protocol or LIP orders to provide age-appropriate cardiopulmonary care for diverse patient populations, including ventilation management and gas delivery.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree or approved certificate, Maryland licensure, 1 year CRT experience, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or approved certificate program required.
• One year of CRT experience required.
• Maryland licensure required; RRT eligibility acceptable.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned caseload and responds to emergent patient needs.
• Functions as part of a team to support patients under care.
• Performs respiratory care per protocol or LIP order.
• Observes patient signs and responses to therapy.
• Collaborates with LIP during rounds to adjust treatment plans.
• Adheres to Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Delivers therapeutic and diagnostic gases and chest physiotherapy.
• Administers invasive and non-invasive ventilation and adjusts settings.
• Monitors effectiveness via imaging, vitals, labs, and monitor data.
• Documents care activity in electronic health records.
• Contributes to quality and workflow improvement initiatives.
