Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients, neonatal to geriatric. The role requires an Associate’s degree, state licensure as an RT, and BLS/NBRC credentials with ACLS within 90 days of hire.

You will perform procedures, educate staff, and document clinical information. Preference for a Bachelor's degree is noted.

Qualifications

• Must have Associate's Degree (or higher) in respiratory therapy or related field.
• Current Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice (RRT).
• BLS certification, NBRC registry, ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of patient served in the assigned area.
• Adapts communication and care to specific patient population.
