Job summary

HDR is seeking a strategic Data Steward to define, share, and reuse data across the Resources Business Group. The role shapes data standards, collaborates with engineers, and enables better decision making across HDR's diverse practices.

Leading a cross‑functional team, you will drive governance, glossary creation, and data quality improvements while aligning with HDR’s employee‑owned culture and growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of related experience.
• Experience leading diverse teams and managing data initiatives.
• Ability to work with leaders, operations managers, and technical directors to drive data strategy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from our Business Classes and Practices.
• Develop and maintain data glossaries with business context.
• Build alignment around data processes, priority, and usage across teams.
• Promote responsible data access, quality, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets: access, approvals, inventory, storage, and lifecycle considerations.
• Lead a RBG SME network to align practices and share lessons learned.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG and collaborate with Data Science teams.
• Communicate with BG Data Stewards and Enterprise Data Operations staff regularly.
