Job summary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks a Supervisory Natural Resources Specialist to plan, direct, and administer the Operation, Maintenance, Park Management and Resource Management program at a multi-purpose project in New Mexico.

You will supervise mitigation and land management plans, enforce regulations, represent the Corps with federal and state partners, and oversee budgets and project facilities toward safe, efficient public use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines.
  • One year of specialized experience overseeing O&M of a dam/lake project including Park/Natural Resource/Public Lands management.
  • Foreign education evaluated as equivalent to U.S. education may be required if used to meet qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and administer the Operation, Maintenance, Park Management and Resource Management program at a multi-purpose project.
  • Supervise mitigation plans and land management plans, and oversee related controls and procedures.
  • Enforce Title 36 CFR, Part 327 and regulations governing public use of water resources.
  • Develop, maintain, close and consolidate Corps recreation areas and facilities.
  • Represent the Corps in contacts with federal/state agencies, local officials, and tourism councils.
  • Prepare, justify and support budgets, obligations and expenditure schedules and spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate operation and maintenance of project facilities including flood control structures and appurtenances.
  • Perform supervisory management duties.
