US Army Corps of Engineers in New Mexico is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the project office to perform a range of maintenance, repair and operational duties for flood control dam facilities.

The role involves inspecting electrical components, welding metal parts, constructing and repairing structures, monitoring weather readings and operating vehicles and vessels; relocation incentives and on-site housing may be offered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of maintenance, repair and operational duties for the park office to which assigned.
  • Apply a variety of standardized methods, procedures and techniques to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Inspect circuit breakers and fuses for proper condition and size, replacing defective breakers.
  • Weld similar metal components together to fabricate or repair equipment.
  • Construct, install, repair or modify items and structures.
  • Repair, replace and maintain such things as pipe, tile, union joints, faucets and drains.
  • Dam operation: Collect humidity, temperature and wind velocity readings from weather instruments. Make gate settings to regulate outflow of water. Perform routine maintenance and repair.
  • Operate a variety of vehicles and vessels.
