Job summary

Waymo in Mountain View seeks a senior leader to own Enterprise Resilience across critical services, guiding risk assessments, metrics, and policy alignment. You will partner with Technology, Operations, and Safety to embed robust controls and reporting to ELT.

A track record of 8+ years in risk, strong cross-functional collaboration, and ability to translate complex risk into concise briefings is essential. Travel is <20% for collaboration and audits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a risk-related field, preferably with complex operations including software and real-world risk
• Strong cross-functional partnership with diverse stakeholders to map dependencies, risks, and mitigations
• Curiosity to understand status quo, asks why, and considers alternatives
• Excellent attention to detail; can synthesize complex information into clear docs and presentations
• Proven ability to communicate complex risk profiles to executives, steering committees, and frontline teams
• Familiarity with business continuity concepts, BIA and risk assessments to inform resilience risk snapshot

Responsibilities

• Lead resilience risk assessments across critical services, infrastructure, and operations; evaluate control effectiveness within a structured framework
• Develop, maintain, and own the Enterprise Resilience Risk Register with clear risk ownership
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, monitor, and mitigate risks related to service disruptions
• Lead development of enterprise-wide resilience metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards; provide insights for prioritization
• Set strategy, objectives, and escalation paths; report to ELT, safety committees, and risk board
• Monitor impact of new industry standards and regulatory requirements on compliance programs
