Job summary

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, a leading IES company, is seeking a Residential HVAC Estimator for a full-time, onsite role. This leadership position supports multiple branches and collaborates with operations, purchasing, and executive leadership in a fast-paced production-builder environment.

You will oversee estimating operations, establish standard processes, review bids for scope and profitability, and mentor staff across branches while driving pricing strategy and margin

Qualifications

• 7+ years in residential HVAC estimating (production builder experience preferred).
• Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, duct design, equipment selection, load calculations.
• Experience supporting high-volume builder environments.
• Strong financial and cost-analysis skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and estimator software experience.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC estimating for production and custom residential projects.
• Establish standardized estimating processes, templates, pricing models.
• Review bids for scope accuracy, code compliance, profitability.
• Support branches in meeting builder bid deadlines.
• Coordinate and review load calculations and system designs.
• Analyze labor, materials, and overhead to protect margin.
• Mentor estimating staff across branches.
• Serve as pricing resource to operations and leadership.
• Assist with strategic pricing, value engineering, and builder negotiations.
