Job summary

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, a leading IES company, is seeking a Residential HVAC Estimator for an in‑office, full‑time role in Florida. The estimator will oversee multi‑branch activities, standardize processes, and ensure bids are accurate and profitable.

The position emphasizes leadership in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment with direct interaction across operations and executive leadership. An onsite role requires strong technical and pricing skills to drive margins.

Qualifications

• 7+ years residential HVAC estimating experience, production builder experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, duct design, equipment selection, and load calculations.
• Proven experience supporting high‑volume builder environments.
• Solid financial and cost‑analysis skills.
• Advanced Excel and estimating software proficiency.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC estimating for production and custom residential projects.
• Establish and maintain standardized estimating processes, templates, and pricing models.
• Review bids for scope accuracy, code compliance, and profitability.
• Support branch teams in meeting builder bid deadlines.
• Coordinate and review HVAC load calculations and system designs.
• Analyze labor, material, and overhead assumptions to protect margin.
• Mentor and support estimating staff across branches.
• Serve as a pricing/resource to operations and leadership.
• Assist with strategic pricing, value engineering, and builder negotiations.
