Job summary

Justice Resource Institute in Concord, MA seeks a Senior Residential Counselor to engage and support adolescents in a structured residential setting on Walden Street School campus. You will foster a positive, respectful environment and participate in activities that promote growth and safety.

The role offers evening/weekend shifts with a focus on trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Maintains valid drivers license as transporting students is required.
• Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Responsibilities

• Provide enriching daily activities for students, including arts and crafts and offsite field trips.
• Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students and modeling coping strategies.
• Help students develop life skills (cooking, banking, vocational skills) and a sense of self to be successful in their next steps.

The Walden Street Schoolis a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes intraumainformed care.Walden provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.
Multiple options for schedules to accommodate work life balance. Three, four and five day work weeks available.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated.
