Job summary

Justice Resource Institute is seeking a compassionate Residential Counselor to support adolescents at Walden Street School, a residential treatment setting. The role offers flexible schedules (3, 4, or 5 day weeks) and a competitive pay range of $19.00 to $25.00 per hour, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
• Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Responsibilities

• Provide enriching daily activities for our students such as arts and crafts, recreational activities including offsite field trips, and more.
• Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and role modelling effective coping strategies.
• Help students discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more.

The Walden Street Schoolis a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes intraumainformed care.Walden provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Multiple options for schedules to accommodate work life balance. Three, four and five day work weeks available.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated.
