Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking a qualified construction supervisor to oversee homebuilding projects from start to finish in the Austin area. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, scheduling material deliveries, and ensuring adherence to Meritage quality standards and building codes.

You will conduct inspections with homeowners, promote safety on site, and keep work areas organized while collaborating with multiple departments and city inspectors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in construction management preferred.
• 4–10 years construction experience with supervisory or project oversight.
• Advanced training in one or more trades within residential building strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of homebuilding systems, ROC, and building codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect all construction aspects (framing, stucco, electrical, plumbing).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; proficiency with Word/Excel; Hyphen knowledge is a plus.
• Hands-on with a wide range of hand and power tools; able to explain complex issues clearly.
• Strong problem and conflict resolution abilities to handle customer concerns positively.

Responsibilities

• Manage homebuilding construction through all phases to deliver a quality home.
• Schedule subcontractors and delivery dates for materials.
• Ensure building codes and Meritage quality standards are met.
• Conduct walk-through inspections with the homeowner.
• Communicate safety standards to laborers and subcontractors; enforce safety on all sites.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and subdivision.
• Interact daily with various departments, subcontractors, customers, and city inspectors.
• Attend construction, monthly and quarterly meetings.
