Hatch in Washington, DC is hiring a Resident Engineer - Tunnels to lead on-site structural oversight for a major infrastructure project. You will coordinate with engineers, owners, and contractors, review shop drawings, and help ensure compliance with design intent.

The role emphasizes reinforced concrete/steel structures, excavation support, and construction instrumentation, requiring extensive field presence and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of progressive Civil/Heavy Construction experience with a focus on structural engineering.
• Experience in design or construction of concrete structures (earth retaining or cut-and-cover) preferred.
• Licensed PE (DC preferred or ability to obtain).
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs and shop drawings.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Familiar with CAD (AutoCAD) and structural design software.

Responsabilités

• Review contractor submissions for conformance with specifications and design intent; coordinate with EORs for approval.
• Assist in reviewing RFIs and RFCs; coordinate with EORs for approval.
• Attend site meetings with Owner, Contractor and Design Team.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication among Owner, Contractor and Design Team.
• Observe and report on construction progress to maintain understanding of issues.
• Assist in development and issue of as-built documentation.
