Job summary

Parsons in Newark, NJ seeks a Senior Resident Engineer to lead daily construction activities on the Gateway Program's premier infrastructure project. You will supervise inspection teams, review plans for constructability, and ensure safety, quality and schedule controls while coordinating with regulators and stakeholders.

The role requires 15+ years in construction contract administration, EIT (PE preferred), and strong familiarity with NJDOT, Amtrak, and geotechnical practices.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in construction contract administration.
• Experience in northern New Jersey/ NYC area preferred.
• EIT certification; PE in NJ preferred.
• Familiar with AASHTO, NJDOT and Amtrak standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction activities and Resident Engineering Inspection responsibilities.
• Review construction plans, specs, and project changes for constructability and practicality.
• Ensure staff safety, regulatory compliance, permit adherence, and coordination with agencies.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence and overall effectiveness.
• Administer contractor payment process and recommend adjustments based on work.
• Communicate clearly with contractors, clients, local agencies and stakeholders to guide progress.
