Job summary

Boswell is seeking a Resident Engineer in New Jersey to oversee highway construction projects from planning through close-out, ensuring budget discipline, accurate quantity verification, and QA/QC compliance. The role includes leading staff, coordinating contract activities, and maintaining client relations in a safety-conscious environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, with 8+ years of experience and a PE license preferred; NICET certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil engineering or construction management with progressive responsibility
• PE license preferred; NICET III/IV accepted for NJ candidates
• Strong communication and client interaction skills
• Familiarity with NJDOT/NJTA specs and details

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction projects from planning to close-out
• Manage project budgets and monthly expenditures
• Coordinate contractor applications for payment and quantity verifications
• Prepare staffing and cost estimates for new projects
• Conduct constructability reviews on roadway and utility projects
• Lead preconstruction meetings and maintain meeting minutes
• Ensure QA/QC and safety standards compliance
• Mentor staff and manage client relations
