Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee inspection activities for heavy highway projects in Newark or Camden. The role requires NJ PE or NICET III/IV certification and at least eight years of construction inspection experience on New Jersey agency projects.

The Resident Engineer will manage field staff, review cost estimates, and ensure contractor work complies with contract documents, while coordinating with Project Managers and maintaining thorough

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited civil engineering program.
• Professional Engineering license in New Jersey or NICET III/IV certification.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Resident Engineer performing construction inspection on NJ agency projects.
• Advanced ability to read and understand contract documents.
• Ability to pass a TWIC background check and perform night work if required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Resident Engineer on New Jersey Agency projects and perform on-site inspection for heavy highway projects.
• Assist in the review of cost estimates and project submittals.
• Oversee field inspection staff and coordinate with Project Managers.
• Travel to project sites as required and perform office work when not inspecting.
• Ensure daily contractor operations comply with contract documents and keep organized project files.
