Job summary

Actalent seeks a Customer Quality Engineer to represent the voice of the customer and lead quality activities for new product launches and engineering changes. You will manage APQP milestones, PPAP submissions, and correlate customer requirements across internal plants and suppliers.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure containment and inspection plans, and drive corrective actions to improve quality and delivery performance in an automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop APQP documentation including FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP and related core tools.
• Facilitate development and maintenance of process flows, PFMEA, and control plans with focus on critical and special product/process characteristics.
• Ensure inspection and containment plans are in place and effectively implemented throughout the value stream.
• Develop, maintain, and control APQP documents through PPAP approval for new program launches.
• Coordinate and participate in customer quality events with manufacturing plants (site visits, launch reviews, run-at-rate).
• Represent voice of the customer to internal teams and suppliers to ensure requirements are met.
• Oversee gaging requirements, design review and coordination of customer approvals.
• Lead corrective action process to reduce quality incidents and improve delivery performance.
• Review PFMEA documents from suppliers and conduct verification audits as needed.
• Take responsibility for final PPAP sign-off during Phase Gate Review 5.
