Job summary

Hireology is seeking a Resident Care Director in Virginia to lead the resident care team and coordinate care delivery across the community. You will liaise with hospital staff, physicians, and care providers to ensure compliant, high-quality services while modeling the company values.

The role requires nursing leadership experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to manage schedules, coaching, and performance. A strong focus on resident safety and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Two years college in human services or health care field required.
• Unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience providing resident care to the elderly or similar memory care.
• Minimum of one year nursing management experience including hiring, coaching, scheduling, and daily operations.
• CPR and first aid certification.
• Willingness to become trained in state assessments and service plans as per licensing requirements.
• Knowledge of infection control and prevention of disease transmission.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours; on-call as needed.
• Valid driving record; able to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Model a philosophy that treats every resident and family as a personal customer.
• Promote health and wellness through collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and care providers.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state policies governing resident care.
• Collaborate with administration on referral development and occupancy goals.
• Maintain rapport with residents, families, direct care staff, and regulatory personnel.
• Conduct routine resident care rounds and follow up on concerns.
• Ensure assessments are completed per policy and licensing requirements.
• Oversee resident care staffing plans and budget consistency.
• Deliver direct resident care and supervise direct care staff.
• Coordinate department schedules and staffing levels.
• Hire, train, and evaluate care staff; align with core values.
• Provide ongoing education and training on care policy and procedures.
• Oversee medication management for resident safety; onboard, train, observe, and review performance.
• Communicate with executive leadership about changes in resident health.
