Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living seeks a Resident Care Director in Virginia to lead the resident care team and coordinate care for residents. You will liaise with hospitals, physicians, and community partners to ensure compliant, high-quality services and to foster a culture ambassador role.

The position requires nursing leadership, regulatory knowledge, and strong communication. Full-time with comprehensive benefits and shifts including weekends and evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ college in human services or health care field.
• Unencumbered state license as RN or LPN preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience providing resident care to the elderly or memory care.
• Minimum of one year nursing management experience, including hiring and scheduling.
• CPR and first aid certification.
• Willing to become trained in state assessments and service plans.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Model a customer-focused approach to residents and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and care providers for coordinated care.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state policies governing resident care.
• Support referral development and occupancy goals.
• Oversee staffing plans and scheduling to meet resident needs.
• Deliver direct resident care supervision and coaching.
• Coordinate training and continuing education for care staff.
• Oversee medication management and safety processes.
