Job summary

Teledyne FLIR is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to support the development of next-generation infrared detector technologies and focal plane arrays. This role will contribute to strategic product development initiatives, semiconductor process innovation, and the advancement of high-performance detector solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance detector technologies, participate in government contracts, and translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry, research, or development experience.
• Strong background in semiconductor physics, optoelectronic devices, or related technologies preferred.
• Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes such as photolithography, dry etching, dielectric deposition, and metallization preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reasoning abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic decisions related to detector design and product development.
• Lead and support semiconductor process development initiatives.
• Serve as a technical resource to resolve development and production challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance detector and focal plane array technologies.
• Support the technical execution of R&D programs and contracts with government agencies and contractors.
