Job summary

Wonderlic is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to bridge I-O psychology and machine learning. You will own the jobs engine, ingest labor market data, and produce scalable, defensible job analyses that inform hiring and development decisions.

You’ll mentor teams on when AI methods are appropriate and ensure outputs meet professional standards. This role emphasizes applied NLP, production systems, and responsible AI in employment contexts, with a remote-first, full-time setup and a strong focus

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in I-O Psychology or closely related field (quantitative focus strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated ML engineering experience with shipped, production-grade systems
• Experience applying modern NLP methods to behavioral, assessment-based, or labor market data
• Track record of work that had to be both technically sound and legally/professionally defensible
• Minimum 3 years of applied industry experience; 5+ years preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the continued development of the Jobs Engine: architecture, integrity, and expansion of AI job analysis system.
• Act as an expert on AI implementation across the organization and advise on best approaches.
• Drive scientific rigor: apply I-O psychology to ensure defensible, standards-compliant outputs.
