Job summary

The Duncan Lab at Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan Medical School, in Ann Arbor, seeks a Research Lab Tech Senior – Intermediate/Associate Underfill to support membrane traffic studies.

You will perform cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, protein work (extractions, western blots), subcloning, and genotyping with data analysis; and help train and direct undergraduates in a collaborative, growth‑minded environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1–2 years of related lab experience or equivalent.
• HS Diploma/Associate Degree with 0–1 years experience; Bachelor's preferred for some tracks.
• Experience with sterile technique and basic molecular biology methods is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular genetics experiments and maintain cell cultures.
• Conduct fluorescence microscopy, protein extractions and western blot analyses.
• Handle subcloning, genotyping and basic statistical data analysis.
• Organize lab databases, ordering, and supervise undergraduates; train new members.
