Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Senior OR Level II Research Laboratory Infrastructure Engineer to join Laboratory IT Services (LITS) within RIS.

You will design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux research environments, ensuring security, reliability, and performance for world‑class biomedical research. The role collaborates with researchers, faculty, and IT teams, providing technical leadership and proactive capacity planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee configuration and management of the IT infrastructure to support data retention, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, and risk management.
• Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure service delivery methods and procedures.
• Lead and manage internal infrastructure through established regulations and standards.
• Implement and monitor incident, problem, and disaster recovery for infrastructure support.
• Manage and provide current usage statistics and growth projections based on demand.
• Partner with internal teams to develop capacity planning and infrastructure availability processes.
• Periodically present capacity planning and performance reports to senior leaders.
• Benchmark, analyze, and recommend improvements to IT infrastructure.
• Perform other duties to meet department and institution goals.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
