Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Research Laboratory Manager in Long Beach, CA to oversee daily laboratory and biobank operations within TPIRC. You will manage sample intake, storage, and data linkage, ensuring biosafety and regulatory compliance while supporting ongoing translational research projects.

You will lead a team of staff and interns, develop SOPs, coordinate with investigators, and contribute to study design, data analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications

• PhD/MA/BA in Life Sciences or related field.
• Experience managing laboratory operations and biobanks.
• Hands-on experience with molecular/biomedical techniques.
• Experience with biosafety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory and TPIRC biobank operations.
• Manage sample intake, processing, labeling, storage, and retrieval.
• Maintain chain-of-custody and data linkage between samples and data.
• Develop, implement and improve SOPs for workflows.
• Train and supervise research staff, interns, and students.
• Support IRB submissions and regulatory documentation.
