Job summary

The Translational Pulmonary and Immunology Research Center (TPIRC) invites applications for a Project Scientist to join our translational research program in Long Beach, CA. The successful candidate will contribute to bridging basic science and clinical applications through innovative studies.

You will design and execute experiments, optimize protocols, and lead immunology- and organoid-based work while collaborating with clinicians and researchers.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
• Strong background in experimental design and data analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
• Record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute translational research studies supporting program objectives.
• Develop and optimize experimental protocols.
• Lead immunology-, cell biology-, and organoid-based experiments.
• Perform flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and related analyses.
• Analyze data using appropriate statistics and prepare reports.
• Contribute to publications and grant applications.
• Collaborate with clinicians and researchers across teams.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and mentoring as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
