Job summary

PG&E is seeking a senior energy procurement professional to lead origination and negotiation of PPAs for renewable and storage resources. The role collaborates with back-office and front-office teams to ensure procurement aligns with policy objectives and market dynamics.

The successful candidate will influence senior leadership, manage complex cross-functional projects, and bring strong CAISO and energy-market expertise to drive PG&E's wholesale energy portfolio in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with coursework in business, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent field of study; or equivalent experience
• Job-related experience, 8 years
• Minimum of four years' experience in wholesale supply, development, or strategy/policy within the energy industry
• Strong understanding of procurement requirements for the Company's wholesale energy portfolio and their impact on competitive positioning
• Comprehensive knowledge of energy contract provisions and typical counterparty considerations
• Proven leadership abilities with a track record of developing new procurement products
• Experience presenting data and briefing senior leadership on procurement matters
• Direct experience with CAISO products, market operations, and settlement processes
• Ability to influence senior decision-makers and manage cross-functional projects
• Commitment to teamwork and continuous process improvement
• Outstanding communication and executive-briefing abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead the origination and negotiation of PPAs for new renewable and energy storage projects
• Originate and execute long-term power purchase and sales agreements
• Develop, manage, and negotiate wholesale power sales and procurement across storage, renewable energy, and GHG-Free products
• Evaluate complex power procurement contracts and synthesize key deal points for senior management
• Prepare strategy papers and briefing materials for Senior Leadership
• Understand CAISO rules and their impact on procurement and project economics
• Build and manage relationships with renewables and storage market participants
• Lead cross-functional initiatives on complex strategy and policy matters
