Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking an Origination Analyst to support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio across the Western region. You will analyze, research, and execute transactions for wind, solar, and energy storage projects, including PPAs, VPPAs, and Build Transfer agreements.

The role reports to the Senior Director of Origination and offers exposure to multiple cross-functional teams, with a focus on customer-facing commercial activities and market analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Physical Sciences, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with U.S. energy markets or renewables is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of long-term PPAs and renewable energy transactions.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Development, Finance, and Engineering teams to deliver origination transactions.
• Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to inform business development.
• Prepare internal analyses, presentations, and RFP summaries.
• Develop customer proposals and materials for solicitations and bilateral opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends and policy changes affecting renewables.
• Assist in standardizing and improving commercial processes.
• Help drive opportunities from initial engagement to transaction execution.
