Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. is seeking an Estimator III for our Renewables Pre-Construction team in California. You will lead cost estimation for renewable energy projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability across bids and proposals.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of construction estimating experience, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, and strong Microsoft Office skills. Occasional travel and collaboration with project teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the renewable energy sector or related industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experience in Accubid Enterprise, a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents to understand project requirements.
• Identify project risks and mitigation strategies with the project team.
• Prepare RFIs for missing information in owner documents.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement to gather cost data.
• Identify value engineering opportunities for review with senior estimators.
• Develop detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Research vendors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Coordinate with estimating discipline leads to compile a complete estimate package.
• Participate in bid reviews and assist in bid proposals.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize project costs.
• Support negotiations with required information.
• Provide detailed scope/requirements reviews to senior estimators before bids.
• Create accurate proposal letters for review.
• Stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
